Flux-induced vortex in mesoscopic superconducting loops
Phys. Rev. B 59 (1999) 8896-8901
This paper studies the order parameter in doubly connected supercon-ducting samples in a uniform magnetic field. It is found that that there are field ranges for which a vortex is present in the sample. Curiously, this vortex appears at the thin side of the sample for small fluxes and at the opposite side for large fluxes. This prediction was experimentally verified by Kanda, Location of flux-induced vortex, Physica C 468 (2008) 848–851.
