Research

My research is combustion oriented. I have two main interests. The first one is analysis of images of sooting flames. I have developed an algorithm that allows flame recreation from the temperature and soot volume fraction fields. I can use this algorithm to extract soot volume fraction and temperatures from real flame images.

The second is the investigation of wood and biomass combustion. Wood and biomass are still popular fuels, especially in rural areas and developing countries. It has a potential to be renewable fuel; however the fuel is extremely polluting. There is little research done on the basic combustion of wood and biomass and my goal is to close this gap.
